Alison Kreitzer received her Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization from the University of Delaware in 2017. She also completed her bachelor’s work at the University of Delaware, receiving degrees in History and Art History in 2009. Her research examines the intersection of gender, technology, and risk-taking in 20th century America. She is currently working to turn her dissertation, “Whiteness, Masculinity, and Technological Play in Dirt Track Automobile Racing, 1924-1960,” into a book focusing on grassroots motorsports as a popular American pastime. In addition to teaching courses at the University of Delaware, Kreitzer is the Public Historian for the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies located in Media, Pennsylvania.
