Social Studies Education majors have substantially more course
requirements than students majoring in other disciplines. As a result, it
is imperative that special attention be used when selecting courses each
semester in order to graduate in a timely manner. Courses that can be
used to satisfy University, College of Arts and Sciences Breadth and major
requirements simultaneously should be taken as much as possible. For
example, if you are required to take related coursework in political science, you
should plan to register for political science courses listed under one of the
approved Group Breadth courses listed below so that the course counts for both
requirements. The same holds true for any other related-work courses
you are selecting. Choosing courses that fulfill multiple requirements
ensures a timely progression through the curriculum.
