How to Apply for Student​​ Teaching​

NOTE: Instructions, including application documents and the Inquiry and Analysis Portfolio instructions, can be found on the Inquiry and Analysis Portfolio section of the Social Studies Education website.

• Student teacher candidates planning to graduate in Spring 2024 must submit all application documents by Friday, February 23, 2024​. All ap​​plication documents must be submitted online according to the instructions found on the UD Social Studies Education website.

• IMPORTANT: In order to submit documents online, you will be added to the Secondary Social Studies Education Canvas site. YOU MUST E-MAIL Dr. Kim at hkim@udel.edu​ if you are submitting an application for studen​t teaching this February so that she can add you to the Canvas site. Please do this immediately!

• In addition to the application documents, you must submit a minimum of four Inquiry and Analysis Portfolio entries. Instructions for the Inquiry​ and Analysis Portfolio entries can be found on the UD Social Studies Educat​ion website​. All entries will be uploaded to the Canvas site like you would an assignment. There will be a separate "assignment" for each portfolio entry.

• You must also meet ONE of the two following conditions:

• A 3.0 overall GPA for all coursework completed from Spring 2022 through Winter 2024.

• Achieve a "college ready" score on an approved test that measures Reading, Writing, and Mathematics such as SAT, PRAXIS CORE, or ACT. See the Office of Clinical Studies website​ for more information on the require​​​d scores.
