Inquiry and Analysis Portfolio Entry 6 Instructions

This entry is satisfied by the two HIST316 poster projects. Students who don’t take HIST316 are required to create two poster projects to satisfy Portfolio Entry 6. We will provide the poster template for Entry 6.

1. An education civic engagement poster project. This poster project must address some aspect of grade 6-12 education that needs attention in Delaware schools that you have studied or observed in your EDUC classes and practicums.
2. A “Common Sense” poster project that addresses a problem that exists on one of UD's campuses.

Both posters must include the following six elements:

1. Describe the Problem.  50 words and one visual (image or video) that relates directly to the problem you are describing

2. Explain why it is important to address this problem.  50 words

3. Analyze why this problem exists.  100 words plus links

   Be sure to provide evidence and examples from compelling and legitimate sources---for example, data, an article, or a video—documenting the existence of the problem and the need to address it. Present this evidence as Live Links within the body of your 100-word text.

4. Propose a five-point action plan for addressing the problem. 5 bullet points

5. Provide a detailed list of Advocates: identifying allies who might be willing to help fix this problem or address this need. (A contact list of important people and organizations, including their hyperlinked information) List

6. Describe in a short video how your action plan address issues of equity, equality, human rights, or social justice within your school and/or the greater community. Create a video and insert the video into the Element 6 box

If you are not taking HIST316, you should download two copies of the Google Slides poster template to complete this entry. The templates contain specific instructions on how to edit the posters.

• Rename the poster templates to include your first and last name along with the title of the poster.
  
• Edit the posters using instructions listed in the poster template.
• After you finalize the poster, save the Google Slide Poster as a pdf.
• Submit your two final project poster pdf files to our Canvas site.
