I am interested in the history of American museum interpretation, particularly in historic sites and historic house museums, and looking at the ways in which these interpretive choices reflect, subvert, and inform notions of American identities. I am also interested generally in the work being done by institutions like museums, universities, and religious organizations to research, acknowledge, and make amends for their institutional histories in relation to colonialism, slavery, race, and gender inequality.
